Pittsburgh police were called to the report of a vehicle that had hit a pole at the intersection of Broadhead Fording Road and Windgap Avenue just before 3 a.m., according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
The 11-year-old was not hurt in the crash, according to the police.
The boy’s family members were at the scene, and he is now in their care, public safety officials say.
Apparently, the tween had previously taken the car and gone driving around before this incident, police say.
No charges have been filed as of Thursday afternoon, according to PPS.
The intersection was closed while Duquesne Light repaired the damaged pole.
